Coach Mariah Jones
Head Coach - PVT 2025 Team
Coach Mariah Jones played locally at St. John's College High School in Washington DC where she was a captain of the 2011 W.C.A.C. championship and DC title championship team that went 33-2 in her senior season. She went on to play basketball at Colgate University in the Patriot League where she holds the record for most games played, at 122, over four seasons. She graduated in 2015 with a degree in Computer Science. She currently works in software development for Fannie Mae. Mariah also enjoys working basketball camps and skill sessions for HoopEd during the spring and summer. Coach Mariah brings her experience and passion for working with youth to help the PV Thunder girls become the best players that they can!

Coach Michael O'Neil

Co-Head Coach - PVT 2022 Team
Coach Mike has been involved in basketball and athletics throughout his life. Growing up in Poughkeepsie, NY, Mike captained his high school team. Mike is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and also obtained his JD/MBA from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. While studying and living in Ireland in 1991-2, Mike coached the St. Patrick's Maynooth College Women's Basketball team to a Division II National Championship. The father of two girls, Mike has over 13 collective years coaching girls fundamental skills, team offense and defense and crucial game situations. Above all, Coach Mike believes in building an environment of positivity, hard work, trust and support among the players, coaches and families of PV Thunder. And, helping to build strong, young women through basketball and competition by teaching them to play with confidence and joy. Besides coaching the PV Thunder girls, Mike is the Founder and CEO of GetWellNetwork, a leading patient engagement company offering solutions to healthcare providers around the world.

Coach Keno Green

Co-Head Coach - PVT 2022 Team
Coach Keno has been involved in basketball and athletics throughout his entire life.  Keno grew up in Arlington, VA where he attend Wakefield High School and started on the varsity basketball team.  Keno is a graduate of Virginia State University with a double degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. He is the father of one girl that loves the game as much as he does.  He has been coaching for 6 years with a strong focus on the fundamental skills, team work, and competition.  Above all, Coach Keno brings experience and passion for working with youth to help the PV Thunder girls become the best players that they can!

Potomac Valley Thunder partners with the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) to develop its coaches. The PCA goal is to develop Better Athletes, Better People and the following become the prevailing models in youth and high school sports:

  • The Double-Goal Coach, who strives to win while also pursuing the more important goal of teaching life lessons through sports
  • The Second-Goal Parent, who concentrates on life lessons, while letting coaches and athletes focus on competing

  • The Triple-Impact Competitor, who strives to impact sport on three levels by improving oneself, teammates and the game as a whole.​

Coach Roni Banks
Head Coach - PVT 2023 Team

Coach Roni Banks has been involved in basketball and athletics for 30 years, first as an avid basketball player, and now in the role of mentor and coach. Roni grew up in Dallas, TX where she attended F.D. Roosevelt High School. During her time there, she was part of the varsity basketball team for all four years and was elected team captain for three of those years. In addition, she played competitively on AAU and Pro-Amateur teams. Roni is a graduate and former player of the University of Colorado at Boulder. Besides coaching the PV Thunder girls, she also offers private basketball lessons. Roni brings her experience for working with youth to help the PV Thunder girls become the best players that they can!​​

Coach Ali Johnson

Assistant Coach -  PVT 2021 Team

Assistant Coach - PVT High School Select Team

A Virginia native, Coach Ali Johnson grew up playing basketball against local competition. She played AAU basketball before and during high school as well as played varsity basketball for four years at Marshall High School in Falls Church. She went on to play basketball at the next level at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York, where she was part of a team that took two trips to the NCAA Tournament as well as holds the record for the most blocks over four seasons! After college she went to law school at Rutgers, where she was a Volunteer Assistant Coach for the Scarlet Raptors team for two seasons. In addition to her playing and college coaching experience, she has also been a basketball trainer for youth at Evolution Basketball, a basketball skills training company based in Northern Virginia, a middle school basketball coach, as well as an assistant varsity coach at a local private school with Coach Krystal Ferguson.

Coach Alexandra (Alex) Paraloglou
Head Coach - PVT 2024 Team
Coach Alex Paraloglou is a graduate of Winston Churchill High School in 2010 and played basketball all four years. She also played AAU basketball before and during high school. After graduating, she passed on opportunities to play basketball at Gettysburg College and St. Mary's College to pursue a bioengineering degree at the University of Maryland. She graduated from UMD in May of 2014 and began working for Accenture as an IT consultant. Coach Alex enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and puppy, and playing sports. Besides coaching the PV Thunder girls, she also offers private basketball lessons. Coach Alex brings her experience for working with youth to help the PV Thunder girls become the best players that they can!

Coach Jason Goldblatt
Assistant Coach - PVT 2024 Team
Coach Jason has been involved in basketball and athletics throughout his life. Growing up in Potomac, MD, Jason played on the first Bullis Boy's Basketball Team in school history to win the IAC Championship.  Jason is a graduate of Duke University and also obtained his JD from George Washington University and his Masters of Business in Real Estate from John's Hopkins University.  Immediately after college, Jason coached boys basketball for two years at The Bullis School.  The father of two PV Thunder girls (one current and one former), Jason has coached boys and girls and many different ages and skill levels focusing on teamwork, fundamentals and skill work.   More than anything, Coach Jason is most focused on fostering a love for the game and a leaving his Girls with positive feelings about basketball. Besides coaching the PV Thunder 2024 girls, Jason is the President and CEO of Willco, a commercial real estate owner and developer located in Potomac, Maryland.

Coach Bill Edmunds
Founder, PV Thunder Basketball

Coach Bill Edmunds has been coaching year-round youth girl's basketball since 2004. A Washingtonian and graduate of the Bullis School ('89) and University of Maryland, Bill has close ties to the Washington-Metropolitan area. He has competed in sports in whole life and most recently developed a passion for coaching. He has been involved in AAU girl's basketball since 2007. His approach to coaching focuses on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and ensuring the players have fun. Bill, his wife Carol, and daughters Nicole and Tori reside in Friendship Heights NW Washington, DC.

Coach Krystal Ferguson

Coach Krystal Ferguson has been involved in basketball and athletics for 20 years, first as an avid basketball player, and now in the role of mentor and coach. Krystal grew up in Lynchburg, VA where she attended E.C. Glass High School. During her time there, she was part of the varsity basketball team for four years and was elected team captain for two of those years. In addition, she played competitively on an AAU team. Krystal is a graduate of James Madison University and the University of Maryland - College Park. Besides coaching the PV Thunder girls, she also offers private basketball lessons and serves as the head varsity basketball coach at a local private school. Krystal brings her experience and passion for working with youth to help the PV Thunder girls become the best players that they can!
