Are there scholarships available for families that cannot afford the costs to participate on a team?

Yes. We are able to provide financial assistance to players that qualify (full and partial assistance available based on need). Please complete this application prior to tryouts. If approved, the player will be advised the amount the scholarship will cover.

Yes, we commit at least 50% of our practice time to skill development. In addition, we are partnered with Pro-Fit Basketball Training and Evolution training to offer additional nights of training for PVT players at discounted rates. Coach Adeeb is one of our player development coaches and he offers private and semi-private training, please contact him directly to schedule at theroolab@gmail.com.

If you have a question that is not covered below, please contact us by email at pvthunderinfo@gmail.com

Does PVT Provide training for players?

PVT Purple teams are the top team at a particular age/grade level. Purple teams will play more out of town events and will attempt to qualify for, and play at, a National event at the highest level the team can obtain. PVT Grey teams are also very competitive. However, the Grey teams will play more regionally and are less likely to travel out of town for tournaments.  All players try out for both the Purple and the Grey team at one centralized tryout. The Purple coach will choose their team first; the Grey coach will choose their team second. Regardless of team, each team has the same goal of providing our PV Thunder athletes with the skills to succeed on and off the court. All of our teams focus on improving individual fundamental skills and basketball IQ while playing a competitive schedule.

Our teams typically practice in the Bethesda/Potomac area or the McLean/Vienna area. All teams have at least 2 team practices per week as well as optional skills training and strength training workouts throughout the week.
